See every match in context

Native page search reveals one match at a time. Find in Page presents every match in document order, with nearby words from the paragraph, heading, list item, table cell, or code block. That context makes it easier to distinguish repeated terms before moving around the page.

Try searching this page for match, page, or context. Every result remains connected to its source, so choosing a result takes you back to the exact text.

Click any result or use the previous and next controls. The arrow keys move through results, Enter advances to the next match, and navigation wraps at either end. While the panel is open, Command+E or Ctrl+E searches for text selected on the page and activates that occurrence without scrolling the page. All matches are highlighted while the active match receives a stronger highlight.

Search state stays in the current tab. Close the panel with Escape and open it again when you need it; the query, selected result, and result-list position remain available. Highlights disappear by default, or you can keep them visible with the extension setting. Match options and this setting are remembered across pages and browser sessions.

Need the browser's built-in find box? While Find in Page is enabled, move focus to the address bar before pressing Command+F or Ctrl+F, or choose Find from the browser menu.

Match the way you mean

Open the compact Aa menu inside the search field to match case, require a whole word, or use a regular expression. Each option works independently, so you can combine them without giving up space in the search toolbar.

Search remains case-insensitive and literal by default. Whole-word matching understands Unicode letters and numbers as well as underscores. Regular expressions accept a raw pattern without /pattern/flags; invalid patterns are shown beside the search field and never leave stale highlights behind. Your match preferences are remembered across pages and browser sessions.

Built for pages that change

Modern pages often load or replace content after the first render. While Find in Page is open, it watches the page for visible text changes and refreshes the result list. When possible, it preserves the active result and your position in the list.

Private by design

Find in Page searches locally in the current browser tab. Page content, search queries, and results are never collected, stored, or sent over the network. The demo on this page follows the same rule.
